According to the Quran only Allah Knows who will go to Jahannam (Hell) and who will go to Jannah (Paradise). Those who ignored, or only pretended to believe in Allah will remain in Jahannam after Qiyamah (Judgment Day).
Muslims believe that after facing the Judgment of Allah, they will be either admitted to Paradise by His Mercy, or entered into Hell by His justice.
Day of Judgment ( Qiyamah, قيامة ) is believed to be Allah's final assessment of humanity as it exists. The sequence of events (according to the most commonly held belief) is the total destruction of all creatures allowable, resurrection of the body, and the judgment of all creatures.
The exact time when the events are to occur is not specified, however there are said to be major and minor signs which are to occur near the time of Qiyamah (End Time). In the Quran verses, especially the earlier parts are dominated by the idea of the nearing of the day of resurrection.
Muslims believe that the afterlife will be filled with happiness and peace for believers and those who do good deeds.
In Islam on Day of Judgment (Qiyamah), all living things will be raised to life again and called in front of Allah for the final judgment. People will be divided; some will enter Jannah (Paradise) and some will enter Jahannam (Hell-Fire).
The Quran describes this Day of one of happiness for the believers, and terror for those who disbelieved in its existence. The Quran emphasizes the power of God: "Surely, He who brings life to the dead earth through rainfall can surely give life to men who are dead" (Quran Fussilat, 41:39).
In Islam, True Muslims must believe in the day of Judgement as one of the six articles of Faith (Iman). The trials and difficulties associated with it are detailed in both the Quran and the Hadith.
Muslims believe that the Quran provides the framework for understanding the Day of Judgment such as Prophet Isa (Christians refer Him as Jesus) to Earth, the presence of a false prophet (the Dajjal) in the period leading to Qiyamah and the second kingdom before the occurrence are believed to be indirectly mentioned in the Quran.
There are a wide variety of understandings of the verses in the Quran referring to the Day of Judgment:
· The timing of the day of judgment is not known to people - only
Allah knows when it will occur.
· The people will believe that a short time has passed between
their deaths and resurrection.
· Nothing will remain except Allah.
· Allah will resurrect people even if they turned to stone or iron.
· Angel Israfil will blow the Trumpet twice: the first time all
creatures will swoon and the second time the resurrection will
come to pass. Allah said “First blow will bring the Universe to
attention to all life and Second blow will end all life and Third
blow will bring mankind back to life again (Judgement before
their Lord) (Quran Al Zumur, 39:68)
The Quran declares that the belief in Allah and the last Prophet
Muhammad (including the belief in all the prophets of Islam) and
the last Day of Judgment and the doing of good works on earth is
the requirement for salvation, provided that Shirk is not
committed. Believing in and observing in the five pillars of Islam:
Tawheed, Salat, Fasting, Zakat and Hajj are necessary to secure
Paradise.
· No injustice shall be done
Surely Allah does not do injustice to the weight of an atom, and
if it is a good deed He multiplies it and gives from Himself a
great reward. (Quran Al Nisa, 4:40)
· Non-Believers will go to hell
Many chapters/surah in the Quran mentioned the proposed events to occur on the day of judgement:
· Destruction/flattening of the earth
· Creation of a new earth
· Resurrection of people
· Gathering of the people
· Books of records of the deed accounts of the people shall be
given to them in their right hands if they are judged to be good
on earth and in their left hands if they are judged to be evil on
earth
· Separation of the people who are hell bound and paradise bound
Jannah جنه is the known as Paradise in Islamic conception. The highest level of Paradise is Firdaws فردوس , which is where the Prophets, the Martyrs (Sufferers or Sacrifices) and the Most Truthful and Pious (Religious & Sincere) People will stay.
According to Hadith, there are eight gates of Jannah as follows:
1. Bab us-Salah
For those who were punctual in prayer
2. Bab ul-Gihad
For those who took part in jihad (Struggle & Striving in the way of Allah)
3. Bab us-Sadaqah
For those who gave charity more often
4. Bab ur-Rayyan
For those who fasted (Sawm)
5. Bab ul-Hagg
For those participated in the annual pilgrimage
6. Bab ul-Kazimin Al-Aayz W-Al-Afīn An In-Nas
For those who forgave others and withheld their anger
7. Bab ul-Ayman

from reckoning and chastisement
from reckoning and chastisement
8. Bab ud-Dikr
For those who showed passion in remembering God
Allah said “Everlasting Gardens of Paradise where they themselves, and also such of them as are righteous and fit for earning a place in Heaven from among their fathers and their spouses and their children shall enter. And Angels shall attend on them from every door saying “Assamualaikum””. (Quran Al-Rad, 13:23)
Allah said “Peace be ever upon you because you patiently persevered in virtues and guarded against sin. How excellent and blissful is the reward of this abode in the Hereafter”. (Quran Al-Rad, 13:24)
In the Quran, the basic criteria for salvation in afterlife is the belief in One God, Allah (Tawhid), Last Judgement, Good Deeds, and in all Allah's Messengers as well as believing that Prophet Muhammad is Allah's Last Prophet.
In the Quran, The Conditions Of Going To Paradise as follows:
“Those who spend in the cause of Allah in prosperity and adversity and those who suppress anger and pardon the offences of the people. And Allah loves such doers of good to others”. (Quran Al I Imran, 3:134)
“And those who when they commit any act of indecency or do injustice to themselves remember Allah and implore Him for protection against their Sins and who can protect against sins except Allah. And they do not deliberately persist in doing wrong”. (Quran Al I Imran, 3:135)
“It is these whose reward is protection from their Lord, and Gardens served with running streams, therein they shall love forever. How excellent is the reward of the painstaking in the right direction”. (Quran Al I Imran, 3:136)
“Do you suppose that you would enter Paradise while Allah has not yet distinguished those of you who strive hard in the cause of Allah and has not yet distinguished the patiently persevering”. (Quran Al I Imran, 3:142)
Jahannam جهنم is known as Hell in Islam conception.
In Islam, all evil creatures, both Mankind and Jinn (including Satan & Iblis, King of Satan) will be tortured by Angel Malik and His Zabaniyah (followers).
Muslims believe that unfaithful Muslims not true to their religion will be punished in Jahannam. Muslims also believe that a disbeliever or non-muslim, for not believing while on Earth, may remain there in Jahannam for eternity that each person is judged according to their own circumstance. However, those who commit shirk (Associating false gods with the One, True God, or in worship with Allah), that is, the sin of polytheism (Belief in multiple religion of god), will be condemned to worst punishments in Jahannam for eternity.
Allah said “The one who is not performing his prayer intentionally is truly an unbeliever ”. He may choose make the punishment of hell if Allah wills it according to Allah's Wisdom and Knowledge.
Those who are thrown to Jahannam will eat Zaqqum (tree has fruit, shaped like devils' heads) and drink boiling water. Zaqqum is a tree that grows in Jahannam which the damned are compelled to eat to increase their pain.
The Qur'an said as follows:
· [Al Dukhan, 44:43] Surely the tree of the Zaqqum,
· [Al Dukhan, 44:44] Is the food of the sinful
· [Al Dukhan, 44:45] Like dregs of oil; it shall boil in (their) bellies,
· [Al Dukhan, 44:46] Like the boiling of hot water.
· [Al Ghashiyah, 88:6] No food will there be for them but a bitter
· Dhari (thorn-fruit)
· [Al Haqqah, 69:36] Nor hath he any food except the filthy (dirty)
· discharge from the washing of wound
The Quran and Sunnah (ways, teachings and activities of Prophet Muhammad) offer detailed descriptions of the methods of torture in Jahannam.
The Quran mentioned the punishments in Jahannam (Hell) will be as follows:
1. The burning of skin
2. Only to be replaced for reburning
3. Garments of fire will be worn
4. Boiling water will scald the skin and internal organs
5. Faces on fire
6. Lips burnt off
7. Backs on fire
8. Roasting from side to side
9. Faces dragged along fire
10. Bound in yokes then dragged through boiling water and fire
11. If somebody commits suicide with anything in this world, he or
she will be tortured with that same thing on the Day of
Resurrection and in Jahannam
